Q : What is the size of your camp?
A: We have 190 beds located in five cabins and a six suite dormitory building plus an additional Ten RV Sites and Ten tent spaces, The foot-print is approximately 230 acres next to the Cherokee National Forrest.
Q: What is the cost for lodging and meals?
A: Prices are subject to change. Please call for pricing.
Q: Can we provide and cook our own meals on site?
A: We have a separate dining room (Hammon’s Hall) where groups can prepare their own meals. (capacity 75 Guests)
Q: Is fishing allowed in Agape lake?
A: Yes. with the approval of the camp director. All visitors are required to sign a form releasing the camp from liability.
Q: Do you rent to families?
A: Yes. We rent cabins to families.
Q: Do you rent RV sites on a monthly basis?
A: No. We have a daily rate and a weekly rate. There is a two week limit on RV rentals except by special arrangement.
Q: Are the RV sites full hook up with water, electric and sewer?
A: Yes. We have 10 sites,8 have 30 amp service. 2 sites have 50 amp service. We have only one pull-through site. Space is limited to fifth wheel rigs 45 ft or less including the truck pulling the trailer.
Q: Do you have Wi Fi for guests
A: Yes. Wi Fi is available in the Welcome Center, dormitory and main dining hall. It is not available in cabins, the Rock, or Hammon’s Hall. WIFi is very limited.
Q: Do you host weddings and family reunions?
A: Yes we host both. See Community and Weddings on the website.
Q: . Do you allow swimming and boating in the lake?
A: We allow swimming and canoeing if the group has certified life guards. Life guards must submit proof of certification to the Camp Director and each group must pay the Life Guards separately.
Q: Do you provide life guards?
A: No. We do have life guards who may be hired with a 3 hr minimum of $30. Individual groups are responsible for paying life guards.
Q: Do you have to have a license to fish in the lake?
A: The lake is private but a state fishing license may be required.
Q: Do you have grills for cooking?
A: Yes. Charcoal grills are available at cabins and in tent camping areas. We do not furnish utensils, charcoal or lighter fluid.
Q: Can we build a fire or have a bonfire on the property?
A: Fires are permitted only in the charcoal grills and in the fire pit near the lake. A fire in the fire pit requires a permit because our property adjoins the Cherokee National Forrest.
Q: Do you offer structured activities for guests?
A: No. We can make arrangements for structured activities with advanced planning. Most groups provide their own personnel to conduct structured activities and worship services.
Q: Are cabins and dormitory rooms air conditioned?
A: Yes. All cabins and the dormitory are air conditioned. One cabin and the dormitory have central heat.
Q: Are you open year-round?
A: Currently our official schedule is May 1st through Oct 31st. However we can host groups during the off season. Contact us for more information.
Q: Do you allow alcohol in the buildings?
A: Camp Agape is declared as an alcohol and drug free campus.
Q: Do you have a non-smoking policy? Is tobacco allowed?
A: Camp Agape is a tobacco free/ vape free campus.
Q: Do you sponsor “sports camps”?
A: Currently we do not have any structured sports camps. We are very interested in developing sports camps. Contact the Camp Director if you are interested in conducting a sports camp.
Q: Do you have a large inside meeting room/worship center with a sound system?
Does it have a piano keyboard?
A: Our main dining hall doubles as a conference room. It will seat approximately 120 guests. There is a sound system, with one weighted keyboard, piano, and a portable movie screen.
Q: Do you have a large outside meeting facility with electricity and bathrooms?
What is the capacity?
A: The Rock has bathrooms, a stage, and folding chair seating. Approximately 150 people can be seated under roof. There is electricity and good lighting.
Q: Does the camp offer “white-water rafting” and/or mass transportation to rafting sites?
A: We cooperate with outside white water rafting companies, by providing information to interested groups. Camp Agape does not schedule the rafting event. Each visiting group is responsible for booking a rafting event separate from the Camp Agape reservation.
